The ‘kitten’ comes from the Santo Giordano vineyard of southern Carneros. This is a beautiful vineyard of sangiovese, where cold winds and fog ensure that the fruit is lean and lovely. Our rose is 100% sangiovese, Mike Barber’s favorite grape and the perfect, bright varietal for rose production. The grapes were crushed after harvest and left to sit on the skins for just 3 hours to develop color before being pressed and fermented in stainless steel.
This is a gorgeous summer sipper, with flavors of dark cherry, strawberry, and jasmine/ rosehip aromas. This kitten is soft and friendly, with a delicate texture and bright flavors. One of the best rosés we’ve made – perfect for summer sipping and wherever good times need to happen!
